Leadership

“Leadership is often explained through a series of cliches, well worn and impressive sounding. I don’t want to devalue the intent of those cliches but it is important to look deeper. Building a team is about more than a casual dress code or a foosball table in the middle of the office. You have to understand your team; what they need, what motivates them, what skills they lack. But instead of simply reacting, you must build a culture that supports and empowers the kinds of teams you need. It then falls to the leader to be the beacon of success; to have the courage to make hard decisions while still keeping the company and everyone on the team focused on the shared goals.”
